First Retreat at Great Wolf Lodge!

First Retreat at Great Wolf Lodge!

by Kristina Flores, Children’s Ministry Manager

This weekend was my very first Great Wolf Lodge trip, and it was such a blast! For those who may not know, our Leaders in Training students go every year to celebrate all their hard work. It’s a sweet tradition, and this year I had the honor of leading it.

I’ll be honest: I was nervous. I prayed constantly, and the anticipation was the hardest part. But God showed up for me in such a real way and filled me with peace. Once the students arrived, all that nervousness melted away, and I felt excited all over again.

Seeing their joy, how eager they were to talk, play, and just be together, was incredibly rewarding. We had pillow fights, did each other’s hair, played games, and even baptized one another in the pool. God truly outdid Himself and gave us such a beautiful time together.

I’m grateful for everything He did for me and for my group this weekend, even in the little moments, like the man with the massive mustache that reminded me of my uncle and made me smile.

God, I lift up every single one of my students, Aaron, Simon, Bella, Gabby, Nazareth, Johan, Keiry, Susan, Rose, Mateo, Jeffrey, Jr, David, Alex, Dominick, Aaliyah, Lio, Gabe, and Damon. Bless them, guide them, and continue the good work You’re doing in their lives.

And of course, I couldn’t have done any of this without my superstar helpers: Erick, Nicky, Mikya, Innocent, Michael, Jacob, and Patrique. If you all could keep them in your prayers, too, I would be so grateful.
