The gift of diversity lived out in our children’s programs!

By Megan Fountain, Childrens Ministry Director

One of the best parts about living in the KCK community is the diversity that we have. Wyandotte county is one of the most diverse counties in the United States and for a ministry that is all about loving people from other places, we are so thankful for the cultural richness we are surrounded by.

Our children’s programs are one of the places in Mission Adelante that you will find the most diversity. Last year, we moved to a multicultural tutoring program and beginning in 2021, we will be joining our children’s Outreach Bible studies together to make them multicultural as well. This means we will have children of many different cultures worshipping Jesús together!

The programs will look pretty similar with games, songs, Bible verses, a Bible lesson, and lots of fun! We have found that though the kids might come from different places, they often struggle with the same pressures and difficulties. We believe that helping them encounter Jesús in a real and personal way can transform our community in a powerful way.

If you are interested in coming down in March for an observation night, this is a great time to check out the cool things that God is doing in KCK and who knows? You might just fall in love with these kiddos the same way that I did and decide to start serving!
