One Year of Supporting Small Business 🛠

One Year of Supporting Small Business ðŸ›

by Alex Ruybalid, Partner Engagement Director

It’s truly incredible to see the work that is happening at The Toolbox Small Business Resource Center. The Toolbox is a small business resource center on Central Avenue that Mission Adelante helped launch, in collaboration with several other community organizations.

Gabe Muñoz (pictured above in suit) is the key ingredient to The Toolbox that has made it successful. Gabe works in partnership with other local organizations to put on many workshops and events for entrepreneurs. What makes the Toolbox different from most entrepreneur support groups is that we offer assistance in ANY language, we’re centrally located, and the workshops we offer are tailored to fit the schedules of our community members.

There is an incredible entrepreneurial spirit in our community, and the Toolbox provides critical support for many families starting business ventures. In fact, in the first year of operation, the Toolbox has helped local entrepreneurs start 41 new businesses, 91% of those businesses were started by minority entrepreneurs and about 60% were female entrepreneurs.

Providing economic support for small businesses in our community raises the tide for everyone. In this difficult economy and with current supply-chain and inflation issues, it is more essential than ever that we bring business support services to the entrepreneurs of Wyandotte County.

Through my role at Mission Adelante, I have the privilege of serving on the board of the Toolbox. As a board member, I am excited to play a small part in helping guide the impact of this incredible organization.

Please pray that God would continue to bless Mission Adelante and The Toolbox, and that He would show His love clearly to our neighbors through our efforts to serve entrepreneurs from all places.

Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you...Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.
