Join the fun at Arts Community!

Arts Community is filled with kids who love art and are always eager to learn something new! We offer six exciting classes and are always looking for more students and volunteers to join us on Monday nights. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to lead Arts Community, and I am incredibly grateful for our amazing volunteers — I couldn’t do it without them!
Every Monday night, students can choose from a variety of classes, including Arts and Crafts, Jewelry, Painting, Sports, Cooking, and Music. I’m so thankful for the volunteers who step up to lead these classes. However, it's been a bit of a disappointment for both the students and me that we haven’t yet found someone to teach an instrument.
The students absolutely love our volunteers. Each week, they walk in excited to play games or do activities together. It’s so heartwarming to watch friendships form between students and volunteers — and even between the students themselves. You’ll see bonds grow between kids who might never have crossed paths otherwise.
One of our most popular classes is cooking. When I first took over Arts Community, I was brainstorming class ideas for our students. I had been impressed with how engaging the cooking sessions were during Arts Camp, so I decided to give it a try. Never would I have imagined it would be an instant hit! Our amazing cooking volunteers make it such a fun and hands-on experience. In fact, the class is so popular that I’ve had to exceed our roster limit and even turn down kids who wanted to join. I do my best to convince them to try another class, and once they do, they always end up loving it. So not being in cooking class isn’t the end of the world!
I have so much fun leading Arts Community every Monday night. I encourage you to invite more students and volunteers to come check it out. Yes, all the energy and noise can give you a bit of a headache, but the smiles and joy on the kids’ faces will absolutely melt your heart.
