Financial Stewardship Matters

Financial Stewardship Matters

by Jarrett Meek, Founder/Pastor/Executive Director

A commitment to integrity and sound financial procedures is critical to the trust relationship non-profit organizations have with their donors and the communities they serve. What is the gold standard for financial integrity and accountability within the Christian nonprofit world? The Evangelical Council on Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Mission Adelante was founded in 2005 and established financial policies and procedures in line with the requirements of the ECFA. Our founder’s experience with Heartland Community Church, and South America Mission, two organizations that had received accreditation through ECFA, helped us put the right standards in place from our inception. As we continue to mature as an organization and look ahead to next stage leadership and sustainability, our board decided this year to go through the accreditation process with the ECFA for the first time. This process includes a close look at our finances by an outside accounting firm as well as a deep dive into our organizational policies and procedures by the ECFA staff. We are proud to share that we passed with flying colors and received our ECFA accreditation this year in July!

We want all of our friends to know how much our responsibility to steward the gifts and contributions of our donors means to us. We believe that financial stewardship is a reflection of our care and effective use of the gifts that God has entrusted to us. We know that when you give, you are trusting us to manage your Kingdom investment with diligence and care, such that it bears fruit according to the mission and purpose God has given us as an organization. We thank you so very much for that trust!

If you would like to make a contribution to Mission Adelante, we are currently working on our CELEBRATE 2022 year-end campaign. With nine days remaining in the year, God has provided $180,000 toward our year-end giving goal of $230,000! He is moving mountains! You can celebrate with us by making a contribution at https://www.missionadelante.org/give by December 31st!
