Life for some is a smooth process - taking the years slowly as they come. For others, life is about changes and profound challenges that can leave you lost and needing to find new ways of looking at everything around you. Life can look many different ways, and in my opinion, none are easy.

Here I want to share a little about the process of immigrating which is all about finding new life wherever you have been transplanted. The process of immigration, involves leaving family, best friends, and customs behind to find a new home. You are seeking to build that feeling of rest, peace, and being complete in a new country. At first, it's so strange: your house feels like it's not your house, when you go for a walk, everything seems so alien. When you start a conversation, you don't recognize the codes. Should you shake hands? Should you smile? Should you ask about the family?

When you look at the trees in the new country, they are colors that you never imagined existed, and the cold air feels foreign. It forces you to search within yourself to adapt and find new ways of dreaming according to the opportunities in front of you. Years go by, and without realizing it, you have become a warrior, and the fears you had, no longer exist. Suddenly, you realize that you have a new community that you call family and a new place you feel at home.  You realize after time has passed, that you have stopped thinking about the cultural codes, and when you look outside, you breathe deeply and feel that you are at home.

What is family? Where do we feel at home? Who are my people?

I have discovered that regardless of distance, your family never changes. Moving to a new country just means you are adding a few more members to it :) The feeling of being at home is built over time, but it can be achieved. I feel at home where my heart rests!
