Adelante Thrift: Now Just A Click Away!
by Carla Garcia, Partner Engagement Director
There’s something about thrifting that has always felt like home to me.
Some of my earliest memories are of going to Minnesota Ave Thrift with my mom. The only local thrift store we knew, where we could find what we needed and sometimes what we didn’t even know we were looking for. I remember walking the aisles, not really knowing what I’d find, but always leaving with something that felt like a treasure.
Now, years later, not much has changed, except now I’m the mom. And yes, I still go thrifting almost weekly (RIP my budget lol). These days, it’s with my daughter. We look for clothes, toys, and little things for our home. Sometimes it’s practical, sometimes it’s just for fun, but it’s always something we do together. There’s still that same feeling of discovery, of finding a treasure in an unexpected place.
That’s part of why Adelante Thrift means so much to me.
It’s more than a store. It’s a place where stories continue: where items get a second life, and where every purchase becomes part of something bigger. And now, it’s entering a new chapter.
Adelante Thrift is officially online!
That means you can shop for clothing, housewares, and everyday finds from wherever you are. Whether you’re a seasoned thrifter or just starting, you can experience that same joy of discovery, now just a click away.
But what really sets Adelante Thrift apart isn’t just what you find. It’s what your purchase supports.
A percentage of every sale goes directly back to Mission Adelante, helping provide programs, resources, and a community of love and support to immigrants and refugees from all places. Every item you buy helps create opportunities, build relationships, and remind people that they are seen and loved.
So in a way, thrifting has come full circle for me.
From those early days at Minnesota Ave Thrift with my mom, to now thrifting with my daughter, and seeing something like Adelante Thrift grow into an online space that continues to serve others. It’s still about more than just what you take home. It’s about the stories, the people, and the impact along the way.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, take a look. You might just find something you love and be part of something even bigger.
