A few of my hobbies and goals πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈ

In this article, I would like to share a little bit more about who I am outside my work. In previous articles, I have always talked about my work and what I do here at Mission Adelante. But this time I want to share with you all about my hobbies and goals so you can get to know me a little more!

I'm a 22 year old young adult who has many hobbies and goals in life. I love the quote by Mahatma Gandhi, β€œLive as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

I love this quote because I truly believe that our lives should be meaningful and full of adventures. We never know when it will be our last day on earth and so if I die tomorrow, I don't want to have any regrets. So every morning when I wake up, I thank God for giving me another day to live, and I make sure to live every moment of it by doing the things I love.

One of my top hobbies is cooking even though I'm not good at it. Nowadays, I'm obsessed with Youtube cooking channels, and I have learned so many cooking recipes. Some of my favorite recipes to make are momo (which is Nepali dumplings) and shrimp fried rice. I also learned to make alfredo chicken pasta because it's my favorite dish. Every time I go to an Italian restaurant, I always eat alfredo pasta and have been wanting to learn how to make it. Youtube has been a great help for me. I enjoy cooking because it gives me joy, especially when I get to share the food with others and see their reaction. I don’t really care if they like it or not but I love to share!

Another hobby I have is to travel and visit different places. I love to try new food, learn about new cultures, and connect with people from different backgrounds. Our world is so big with a variety of groups of people who are created by the only God in his image. I believe there is so much for us to see and learn from each other, and I don’t want to stay in one place for forever.

Since I’m still young, I haven't been able to travel outside the US yet. But in the future, I want to travel the world. It would be awesome to go back to Nepal, the country where I was born. When I was there, I couldn’t see the beauty it has like the Himalayas and Mount Everest because we lived in a Refugee camp. It would be great to go out and explore. Nepal also has amazing street foods which I miss the most!

Another country that I want to visit after Nepal is Spain. I love football and I'm a big fan of Lionel Messi who plays for FC Barcelona. One of my life goals is to see him playing live before he retires. Since I was in high school I have been planning and saving to go to Spain one day. As I'm talking about football (soccer) I also love to play! I played for two years in high school and have been playing in the Kansas Bhutanese girls team since 2014. I’m not good at it, but I enjoy playing as a team and celebrating together. I still play sometimes with the girls from the youth club. They even have a club team and they play at Soccer Nation. Sometimes they invite me to play with them and it’s always fun and makes me so happy to see them play together.

These are some of the peaks of my life and it is the way I want to live it with no regrets. I believe that we should always do what makes us happy and live a meaningful life.
