Since 2017, Arts Camp has always been the highlight of our summers. This year, due to the pandemic, instead of "Arts Camp'' we switched to hosting an "Arts Week". Arts Week was a continuation of our regular kids programs in the week of July 20-24 with arts activities as the main focus.

Our Theme this year was “Christ strengthens me” based on Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” We picked this theme because we all needed a reminder that Christ’s strength will help us through this difficult time. One of our awesome volunteers, Heidi Pankewich, designed a fun t-shirt with the themes written in three different languages: Spanish, Nepali, and in English. Kids used permanent markers to color on the shirts, and once they were done coloring, they used rubbing alcohol to create a tie-dye effect. Besides the shirts, arts week was also full of games, snacks, fun photos, and creating custom bookmarks. The kids had so much fun!

Arts week was a success because of our amazing volunteer Heidi, the program leaders, summer interns, volunteers, and Mission Adelante church partner, Christ Community. Everyone was AMAZING. Even though we weren't able to do our normal arts camp, we were still able to do something that was different and fun. I’m already getting super excited for next year arts camp!
