Serving Hispanic immigrants to Christ and mobilizing them to serve.
Mission Adelante is an urban mission to Hispanic Immigrants that seeks to win them to Christ through serving them at the point of their felt needs, discipling them relationally, mobilizing them to serve, and equpping them to lead, toward the end of growing community - impacting, leader-reproducing bilingual churches.
Core Values
- Love of Foreigners: Most Americans, at best, tolerate the presence of immigrants in our midst. However, we believe that God calls believers to demonstrate special hospitality for "strangers", going out of our way to show them compassion.
- Relationships: We believe ministry is primarily a relational endeavor and that genuine compassion requires relationship.
- Service: We believe that serving to meet practical needs is a critical aspect of loving immigrants. Moreover, while servicse has value in and of itself, its "kingdom value" increases when word and deed unite to clearly proclaim the glory of Jesus Christ.
- Partnership: We believe that the work of "home missions" is best accomplished with the active participation of local churches. We are committed to seeking win-win opportunities for churches and their members to engage in serving Hispanic immigrants to Christ and mobilizing them to serve. - Hispanic Leaders: We believe that the essence of the great commission is reproducing desciples and leaders who are capable of multiplying the work. Our ministry will emphasize equipping Hispanic leaders for ministry.
- Prayer: We believe that the critical work of ministry is prayer. Prayer is the best weapon ina spiritual battle that can only be won if God moves. Depedent prayer glorifies the ultimate provider.
