Welcoming our 2026 summer interns!

It’s that time again, our Summer Interns have arrived! I am so excited to introduce you all to this year’s Summer Interns. In previous years, we’ve had smaller groups, but this year we’ve expanded to seven interns! That might not seem like a lot, but for us, it’s huge!
Our interns this summer are Elian, Julissa, Blake, Anjali, Unisha, Katalina, and Ramiro!
These seven bright interns have so much potential to grow in their faith, leadership, and skills. They came to orientation with excitement, anticipation, and a readiness to grow as leaders.
A core value of Mission Adelante is developing leaders within our community, and we are ready to equip them to become fierce leaders in our neighborhood. We have a full summer planned for our interns. Their schedule is filled with community service, exposure trips, and meaningful workshops designed to strengthen and develop their leadership skills. They also commit to serving in one of our wonderful kids’ programs to gain true volunteer experience.
And of course, we can never forget the intern retreats we get to have during the summer, fun and exciting trips to Manhattan, Kansas, where the Meeks generously host us. We get to spend time together around the city and truly build strong bonds with one another.
This internship is more than just meaningful to me. I am now finishing my apprenticeship here at Mission Adelante, and I am honored to continue my journey here. I now get to be fully hands-on with this internship, and I can only thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for blessing me with the opportunity to serve here at Mission Adelante.
