Ministries
Serving immigrants to Christ and mobilizing them to serve.
- Latino Outreach: English Classes for Adults
Teaching English has become our most effective “front door” outreach to Hispanic adults. Our program has five levels, fosters relationships between American volunteers and Hispanic immigrants, and introduces our students to the message of the gospel in a small group context. English Adelante currently involves about 30-40 students each trimester.
- Latino Outreach: Kids Adelante
Immigrant children are in a cultural “no-man’s land” that alienates them from their parents and leaves them vulnerable to the negative influences of peers and gangs. Kids Adelante wants to step in and provide a positive environment for spiritual, academic and character development, and be a cultural bridge for the whole family. Our Outreach Bible Study on Thursday nights connects a large group of kids to our community and exposes them to the message of the Bible in a fun and dynamic context. Our after-school "Leaders-In-Training" program provides spiritual mentoring, academic tutoring and character development three days a week for a smaller group kids who are emerging as leaders.
- Bhutanese Outreach: English Classes for adults
Much like the Latino Outreach English classes, we strive to teach English effectively while fostering meaningful relationships between North American volunteers and Bhutanese refugees. The Bhutanese adult English classes are on Tuesday nights and have 3 levels with approximately 40 students.
- Bhutanese Outreach: Kids' Club
In reproducing the Kids Adelante model to Bhutanese kids, Kids' Club offers a positive environment for Bhutanese kids to develop spiritually and academically. The Bhutanese Outreach Kids' Club is on Tuesday nights. We have fun, play games, sing songs and learn about the Bible in a relational, exciting and challenging atmosphere.
- Church Planting
Our first church planting endeavor is currently in its foundational stages. Tied closely to our other ministry programs, our church planting strategy emphasizes forming a network of home-based, bilingual Bible studies in the neighborhood that disciples new believers and equips them to lead.
