Exciting Facility News!

After an exciting two years working in our Kansas City, KS neighborhood, closed on the purchase of a facility in September 2007.  This building, situated on 18th Street Expressway just south of Central Avenue meets so many of the needs we have as an organization for a facility; great visibility, significant off-street parking, vacant lot for a soccer field, large rooms for Kids Adelante, ESL classes, worship services, small rooms to be used for tutoring and kids Bible study groups, garage space for storing clothing, furniture and other resources for immigrant families, and of course ample office space.

Adding to the appeal of this building is the price, which is well within the means God is providing for this purpose through our partnership with Heartland Community Church. Thank You Heartland!

Interestingly, this building was previously a funeral home (read it again if you need to)! As weird as that may seem at first, surely if Jesus can raise Lazarus from the dead, new life and purpose can spring out of this old building that has seen its share of mourning. And, be encouraged to know that it does not have a morgue or crematorium!

Since closing on the facility last fall, Seth Sears, Mission Adelante staff member, has overseen the steady process of changes and improvements to the building. We are currently using the building for offices, Kids Adelante, ESL classes and monthly worship celebrations even as we prepare for more significant renovations to the building.
